Join Arlene Alves for a presentation on x-rays. The need for quality radiographs while minimizing radiation for the patient and clinician is at the core of providing the best standard of care. Newer technology and aiming devices continue to evolve. Adapting techniques are essential. This course aims to ensure clinicians are prepared to identify and correct exposure techniques using “tips and tricks” to achieve diagnostic radiographs.
Learning Objectives:
Arlene L. Alves, has lectured nationally with a focus on radiology. Her experience spans nearly 25 years. She earned her AS in Dental Hygiene from Bristol Community College in Fall River, Mass. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from UMass-Dartmouth and a Masters of Education from Eastern Nazarene College. She has experience in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry servicing patients with special needs. She is a full-time professor of Dental Hygiene at Cape Cod Community College where she facilitates extra mural rotations, teaches Community Dental Health, Radiology and Radiology labs. Arlene is also a CDCA-WREB-CITA dental examiner. She is a member of the ADHA and a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard.
