Prof. Douglas Brothwell from the University of Saskatchewan will be giving a presentation on their Dental Therapy Program and will answer any questions you may have for him.
Dr. Doug Brothwell is a Full Professor and former Dean at the College of Dentistry at the University of Saskatchewan. He earned his DMD and BEd degrees from the University of Saskatchewan in 1984 and 1994, respectively. Dr. Brothwell completed Dental Public Health specialty training in 1999 with MSc and DDPH degrees from the University of Toronto. In 2006 he completed a quality management (CQM) certificate at the University of Manitoba, where he spent 18 years as a full-time faculty member, including eight years as Associate Dean, Academic.
Dr. Brothwell, a former President of the Canadian Association of Public Health Dentistry, is currently leading the development of an accredited BSc in Dental Therapy program in Canada. This program will be operated by a collaborative partnership that includes the Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority (NITHA), Saskatchewan Polytechnic, and Northlands College. Indigenous Services Canada has awarded $2.3M to establish the program.
